Our Date Night

We have a babysitting swap with some friends of ours. We watch their kids once a month and they watch ours once a month. Well, tonight was our turn for date night. Can you guess where we went?
1. The place comes highly recommended.
2. You usually have to wait hours to get service, but we somehow got served right away.
3. Everything is VERY expensive!!!
4. They actually send your bill in the mail.
5. Overall rating: priceless!!

We spent our date night in the ER with Oliver. Right before our friend arrived, Oliver was trying to jump off the top of Clayton's loft bed (all of our info on what happened is coming from a 5 year old). Clayton says they were trying to do flips (isn't that great????? are we training for the olympics? what??) and Oliver fell head first and hit his head on a big plastic toy. He was crying really strange, was floppy, very pale and falling asleep right away. Also, his eyes were doing weird things. Very scary!! So, off to the ER we went. They got us in right away and he was seen by a doctor immediately. He was dazed, wouldn't speak or look at us for about an hour and a half and then he was back to his normal self.
(My really cute date)
He had a CAT scan done to check for any internal bleeding or skull fractures. This was the worst part. He had to be completely tied down for this procedure and he was screaming. "I STUCK! I get OUT! MOMMY!" Horrible! He busted out of the straps once and he had to do it again. The technician had to have Joel push the button to run the machine so he could make sure Oliver was being still. Don't you think we should get this for free since Joel technically did the test????

Everything came back fine. He has a concussion and we just have to limit his activities for 24 hours and watch for anything abnormal.(All better)
So,our date ended up with us both feeling overjoyed and blessed that our son was okay and that the Lord protected him from something worse. We couldn't have asked for a better ending to such a romantic evening.

We had the same experience with Micah falling out of the shopping cart in Target and hitting her head pretty hard - alot of sleepiness, vomiting, wierd eyes...trip to the ER and CAT scan for us too.

You should get a "re-date" night!

Erica!! That is so scary! We were praying last night and happy to hear Oliver is doing much better. Tell those monkey boys of yours, no more jumping off the bed!
