24 Weeks

Today I had a follow-up sono on our little one. I have been so anxious since my last sono due to the choroid plexus cyst on the brain. Well, the cyst is gone and everything else looks great. Such and answered prayer!! He is still a he and he was doing some awesome tricks for the video. I can't wait to post it. He weighs 1lb. 5ozs. and is about 12 inches long. He is right on track for 23 weeks and 5 days which is exactly what I am today.

And, he finally has a name (unless Joel changes his mind).

Elliot Walls Halpin

I can't wait to meet this little guy. I love him more and more everyday. As active as he is, he will fit in nicely with the rest of the crew.

20th (plus or minus) annual Oscar Party

Oscar night is a HUGE deal for my family. We have had an Oscar Party every year since I can remember. We get our own ballots and my Dad buys tons and tons of candy. Each time we vote correctly we get to pick out candy. It is so much fun and never gets old. Even one year, my dad was out of town and video taped his choices...not sure how we did this without tevo.

This year we feasted on make your own paninis. YUMMY!!

My Dad posing in front of all the candy!!

We love this party....what are the Oscars and why is Star Wars not nominated???
Oliver feasting on junk food.
Macey and Emily
Erin so surprised that Wall-E won!! She stole the Andes chocolates from me......:(
Dad is studying up on his ballot.
Chad is awaiting the results.
I did pretty well this year. I got 15 correct. That is a lot of candy. Pretty good for not seeing any of the movies.

My dad always buys one questionable candy item that no one ever picks. This year it was a cow tail. Towards the end of the night, he put it on display with a flashlight shining on it trying to get someone to pick it. I am not sure it ever got chosen. I look forward to next year!!

Boys Night In

The Halpin Men were at a conference, so the little Halpin men had a PARTY!!! Movie night with pizza and popcorn. The older boys sat and watched "Horton Hears a Who" while the little boys did their own thing. We had a blast!! It is so much fun getting these boys together.

Little One's Nursery

I have been searching and searching for the perfect fabric for the baby's nursery. I wanted something totally different from what I have now which is blue and brown. I wasn't really looking for any certain themes, but I fell in love with these colors. I cannot wait until the fabric arrives so I can start sewing. My grandmother (Momma Pat) is going to be making a quilt to match. I am thinking baby blue walls with a horizontal orange stripe around the middle of the room. For some reason I am obsessed with orange, so this is perfect.

A Big Boy in Our Midst

Last night Oliver asked if he could sleep in his future room. The boys are going to be sharing a room, so my Dad has been building Oliver a little bed underneath Clayton's loft bed. I was not at home, but Joel told him he could sleep there, but if he got up, he would have to go to his crib. When I got home, he was still awake with the biggest grin on his face. He fell asleep after an hour and didn't get up until morning. Such a BIG boy! Now, I really need to get there room ready.

No big boy here.....
Here he is....
My sweet, sweet big boy!

Plus, he woke up this morning and asked to tee-tee in the potty. He grew up overnight. We need to start potty training boot camp this weekend.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am so incredibly lucky to have three valentine's (soon to be four) in my house. I love it. I know it is a cheesy holiday, but I still love it. We feasted on pink heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast with pink smoothies. For lunch, we had heart shaped peanut butter sandwhiches. And for dinner, I actually had a date night with my hubby at PF Chang's. YUM!

Today Clayton's folder was signed, but not for something bad. It said "Such a gentleman today." I asked him what he had done and he said he let his friend Ann go ahead and sit on her circle and he cleaned up the whole work station for the both of them. I am so very proud of how thoughtful and kind he is. He is learning to put others before himself. I love this little gentleman!!

What Brain Cells??

I have been so absent minded lately (well, more than usual). This baby and the other two boys are causing some loss in brain cells...or maybe I am just getting older. Today, I had to get both boys packed on ready to spend the night out since Joel is out of town. I got all of their stuff loaded in the car with 20 minutes to spare. This is not normal, so I sat down at my computer for a minute. I usually misplace my keys, so I thought I should look for them ahead of time. 20 minutes later, no keys. If you know me well, this may sound familiar. Well, a crazy thought crossed my mind. 'Oh no, my keys are in Clayton's backpack which is already at school with him' (Joel had dropped him off on the way to the airport). Panic sets in. I call the school.

Me: Um...this may sound crazy, but could you have someone check my son's bag for my car keys.
School:The secretary calls back....We have your keys!!!
Me: Ok...I'll find someone to come get them.
Me: (no one will answer their phone to help me get the keys)
Me: (crying) Hi, this is Erica again...the one with the keys....ummmm could you have someone bring me my keys.
School: Sure.
Key Deliverer: I didn't realize that when I became a teacher that I would be doing deliveries and parent counseling.

What a great way to make an impression on your son's elementary school. I am sure I was the joke of the day!!! Never a dull moment!

Obi Won Update

Our little boy has no name yet (well, I have a name, but it has not been approved yet) so Clayton would like to call him Obi Won. Joel and Clayton have come up with names like Sven, Darth Halpin, Han Solo Halpin, Darth Sivius, Storm Trooper Halpin. Do we see a theme??? I personally do not find it funny at all and really would like to have a name for our son. A real name. It is part of the bonding process for me. This little guy has really gotten some strength lately. You can already see my stomach move from the outside. I love that!!! He is definitely a Halpin Boy...unable to sit still.
My first belly shot (22 weeks)
My sister-in-law sent me this shirt and I LOVE it!!
Boy Moms Rock!!!
Two sweet friends at work (Valerie and Lisa) bought me this super cute "princess basket". I am actually excited about being the only girl in the house. I really LOVE pink, so I guess that it will all be for me! So far, no one in the house has asked to use anything in this basket. Pretty nice!

I went fabric hunting today for the nursery. I am going to make the bedding and curtains, so I need to get started. This fabric may be in the running. It is so hard to tell what it really looks like since it is such a small swatch. It was not exactly what I was looking for, so I am going to keep looking.

100th day of School

I cannot believe this little guy has been in school 100 days. This is a very big day in elementary school. They spend the day counting all different kinds of things all the way to 100. Each child wears something that has 100 things on it. Clayton decided he wanted to wear a shirt covered in snoopy characters....100 of them. Let's just say it was super fun for his mommy to cut all 100 of these guys out. He loves his "100" shirt and wants to sleep in it every night.

On a different note, Clayton received a special award during the school awards ceremony. He got the "Sunshine award". It says "a smiling face that brightens everyones day." I am so proud to have a son that has such a kind heart and can truly brighten someones day.

The Perfect Gift

I don't think I could have picked a better birthday gift for this little guy. He has literally been playing in his new sandbox all day. Plus, he loves being outside.

I think he may be taking a shower tonight instead of a bath. I really don't want to clean up a bath full of sand!!

Birthday Dinner

We let Oliver pick where he wanted to go for his birthday dinner, so McDonald's was where we ended up. Some of the family met us there for some yummy McFood and play time.Happy Birthday to you!!
He got some new Thomas trains, trucks, some fun clothes (which I love), wii sports controllers, and a puppy dog that Clayton picked out.
Reading his Elmo birthday card.

When we got home, he got a gift from my sisters and families. He loves it. It is a little airport with a remote control plane.

We got him a sandbox. He cannot wait until it has sand in it.
What a fun day for our new three year old. It didn't take long for him to fall asleep.
This little guy doesn't look three years old to me. Looks like my little baby still.
Sweet dreams big boy!

Birthday Boy

Three years old today. Happy Birthday, Big Boy!! We started off the morning at the donut shop per your request. You love chocolate donuts with sprinkles.

Then we met our friends and cousins (Owen, Noah, Evan and Hayden )at the Museum. Five boys. It was such a fun birthday morning.
Playing in the big dinosaur sandbox.
Watching the balls.
Hayden and Owen
Noah and Evan
Making bubbles...Oliver favorite part of the museum.

Love those little baby hands.
Water fun.
After lunch, we headed outside to run off some energy.

What a perfect day to celebrate you.
