Fishing Derby

We had a fun time this morning at the neighborhood fishing derby. The boys got new fishing poles and were ready to fish. It was really hard for them to be patient waiting for the fish to bite. They just wanted to throw the line out and reel it back in. Oliver was a little dangerous with the pole and a hook.

Clayton actually caught a turtle. He was very excited about his catch.

Learning the art of fishing from Daddy. Now that we have fishing equipment, the boys will be spending a lot more time fishing. Clayton really enjoyed it.

Loving Big Brother

I know there are so many posts about Oliver sleeping, but it is so funny every night where he ends up. Oliver's new thing is that he waits until Clayton falls asleep, closes the bedroom door and then climbs up and falls asleep right next to Clayton. Clayton won't let him start out in his bed, so he has learned how to get around it. I think it is so sweet how much he adores his big brother.

Elliot's Room

The room is almost complete. My parents have worked extra hard to make his room look super cute. I LOVE it!!! It is hard to tell in the photos, but the brown stripe around the other stripes is actually molding. My mom spent hours painting the letters. I made the curtains yesterday and hung them up today. The only things left are the rocker/glider that my dad is repainting and I am recovering, and the toy box. My grandfather (Poppa Joe) made me a toy box when I was five years old and my Dad is repainting it and I am going to cover the top with fabric. It is too special not to use.

I also finally finished washing and hanging all of the clothes. Joel hung another rack so all of the clothes would fit. This is 0-12 months. Can you believe it?
In about seven more weeks the most important addition will be added to the room. :).

March for Babies

As a NICU nurse, March of Dimes is an organization that is near and dear to my heart. At 31 weeks pregnant, I was a little unsure of the 5 mile walk. I was originally told it was a 5k. 5 miles is quite a bit longer. Luckily, I have super great friends that pulled me along and walked a little slower for me. Also, lucky for me, there were a group of Labor and Delivery nurses doing the walk. If I happened to go in to labor, I had everyone I needed. It was a fun morning, yet a little painful.
The whole Baylor walking team.

Me and my walking buddies. Thanks guys!
At the end of the walk, the heavens opened and the rain poured. We were soaked!! FUN TIMES!

Elliot Update

Only 8 more weeks to go. The plan is to be induced at 39 weeks, so I am planning on June 11th. It has gone by so quickly that I keep wondering why I so uncomfortable and so big at only 2 months pregnant!!! He is still head down and I got a great prescription for heartburn. I have not had any heartburn since I started it. I am so, so happy about it!!

Momma Pat made this beautiful quilt for Elliot. I am so excited about it. Here it is showing the back.

Then the front.
I am hoping to show off his room after this weekend. The paint is done, but has some odds and ends left. I went shopping today for some pjs for the hospital. I can't believe how quickly this is coming up.

A Miracle...

......the pickiest eater in the world actually ate some green beans. He ate all of his vegetable soup without even noticing all the vegetables he was eating.

Fish Release

Our neighborhood has a pond where we can fish. Tonight they had a fish release adding more fish to the pond. Next weekend they are having a fish derby which we will definitely be getting some fishing poles for.
Watching the fish swim into their new home.
A bunch of fish in a bucket.
Cute boys!
There they go!

Dentist Day

Today was Oliver's first dentist visit. I was so worried about how he would do. It is hard enough to brush his teeth. When they called the boys names, Clayton got up and Oliver followed behind him. I was planning on going back with Oliver because I wasn't sure he would do it alone, but off he went. I knew if he went back, he would do better without me there. They said he did great. He even had x-rays done. He told me he cried during the x-rays. I am so proud that he did it all by himself. His big brother showed him the ropes. Plus, their dentist office is incredible.

Such a big boy!
...,.and his great big brother.
Both with a clean bill of dental health. Yay!!

Grilling Time

I love, LOVE grilling out! It is my favorite kind of food. I will usually grill in the winter also, but it is so much more fun in the spring. Tonight I made a family fav--turkey burgers and grilled sweet potatoes. YUMMY!

It was such a nice evening that we ate out on the patio...another favorite of mine. Halfway through our meal, a cold front and storms rolled in, so we had to move dinner inside.

I have decided to try out cloth diapers. I know what you may be thinking, but I was sold on them today and really thought it was worth a try. The most exciting part is that it will save so much money. Our family goal this year is to get me either not working at all or just 4 days a month, so any money saved is a step closer to that goal. I can't say that I am not a little nervous about the whole thing, but I am optimistic for great results!! Plus, I got a free pair of baby legs. I love these things!!

No Sleeping and Driving

Sprint PictureMail

This was so funny! Oliver was in the middle of playing Mario Kart with Joel and Clayton and passed out in the middle of a race....just collapsed on the floor. I guess he was really tired! We couldn't even wake him up for dinner.

The Boy that has no Clothes...

I decided that I would spend the day relaxing today, maybe watch some tv, take a nap....HA! I started looking through some baby clothes and it ended up taking the entire morning. I have never seen so many tiny boy clothes. Elliot is the sixth boy in the family, so we have so many hand-me downs. Several of the clothing items have the random spit up that doesn't show up until it is packed away for years, but Elliot could still probably go months without ever wearing the same thing twice.
This is the stuff I had already gone through.....
....then had to go through all of this.....
Then it had to all be washed.
My Mom and I went and got paint for the nursery and hopefully will start painting this weekend. Only 10 weeks left and it is going to fly by. I am so ready to meet this little guy and dress him in all these tiny clothes.
