The Stockings are Hung

The boys have been begging all week to get the Christmas tree out of the attic. We told them we would get it down on Saturday after Thanksgiving. Well, the day had arrived and they had not forgotten. We were woken up at 6am for requests for a tree. So, the tree came out. When we opened the box of ornaments, Oliver was in awe. It was as he had never experienced this before. This will be the first Christmas that everything is exciting and new to him.

He carefully placed every ornament.

They did a great job.
After decorating, we all moved on to doing separate things around the house. But, Oliver spent at least an hour beside the tree looking at each and every ornament. This evening we went to my parent's house to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Oliver kept asking over and over again to go home. Finally we found out why. He wanted to see the Christmas tree. He had even taken the tree remote in his pocket so he could turn the lights on as soon as we drove up. I can't wait to watch him the rest of this Christmas season.

Black Friday

I do not like crowds, waiting in line, staying up late, or waking up extremely early. This is why I am not a candidate for Black Friday shopping. I have never done it, but it just does not sound like a lot of fun to me. I like the kind of shopping in the comfort of my own home. I can search for the best deals without fighting over parking spots. I can find free shipping and no tax (thank you, amazon). I actually only have two more gifts to buy!! So, while everyone else was out waiting in long lines getting great deals, we were adventuring out into Dallas.

I have been wanting to take the boys for a ride on the trolley for a long time. My SIL, Rachel, has taken my nephews and it looked like so much fun. So, today was the day. We hopped aboard the DART rail.

We got to get off at City Place. The boys love this because it is underground. We had to travel up several long escalators and even an inclined elevator to get above ground. To our surprise, the trolley stop was right above the rail stop. Here it comes!!
The best part of the trolley is that it is FREE!!! We rode the trolley for a block and got off at our first stop. Grimaldi's!! This was some yummy pizza!!
They brought dough for the boys to play with while we waited. They thought this was the greatest thing ever. I did too because it kept them occupied. I need to start doing this everywhere we go.
We were seated on the patio. The day was gorgeous!!
Joel made a dough sculpture of me.

Then, back aboard the trolley. The boys got to blow the whistle as we were about to pull out.

Our last stop before our trip home....Pacuigo's. We got the best Black Friday of the day. Normally the small is $3.79, but they were only 99 cents. Yay! We each got to get our own concoction of flavors.

Elliot even tried a little bite of my mango flavor.

It was a beautiful day to spend with the fam! I love new adventures with these guys.

We have so much to be thankful for.....

We had thanksgiving lunch at my parent's house and thanksgiving dinner at Julianne's house (joel's sister). It was a great day of food and fellowship.

Elliot is 5 1/2 months and it is now time for solid food. We started out with some rice cereal which at first he thought was NASTY!! He has gotten the hang of it and now we are introducing new foods.

Look at this Big Boy at the table.
My Mom has been working hard to make him a ton of homemade baby food. She is awesome. She has made butternut squash, carrots, green beans, peas, apples, pears and sweet potatoes. So far he has loved them all. I am really bad about following the food guidelines of introducing foods gradually.
What next?? are you going to be walking???
