Blue and Gold Banquet

The Blue and Gold banquet was to celebrate all of the scouts accomplishments in Clayton's pack this year.  Doesn't Clayton look so old in this picture?
Clayton and all the boys in his den received their tiger cub patch and pin.
It was a special day to celebrate with our son.
Oh, and Joel (so funny, love his brown leader shirt?) received his one year pin.  I missed it because I was in the car with the little ones.  He will wear it proudly, I am sure!

Mr. Clingy?

I hear laughter, squeeling, and toys banging.  It is coming from Mr. Clingy's room.....and I am not in there.  He is not attached to my hip.  Could it be?  Was it just a two week spell??  Could Mr. Laid Back have come back??  Maybe I shouldn't speak too soon.  I will just enjoy these few moments minus Mr. Clingy.

Sweet boy, these past couple weeks has been a little tough with you.  I am flattered that you think I am the greatest thing since sliced bread.  I love that you light up when I walk in the room.  You legs kick, you reach for me.  Flattered!!!
I love holding, snuggling and loving on you.  I know you will only be tiny for such a short time.  But, there is bad news.
I can't hold you ALL the time.  It's not possible.  Everytime I put you down you cry.  If I give you to Daddy, you cry.
Pretty soon, the house will fall down around us.  Your brothers need me too.
I am not sure if it is because you have been sick, getting teeth or if you just enjoy hanging out on my hip at all times.  Not sure!  Don't you want to learn to crawl, explore, maybe eventually learn to walk??  You won't learn these things sitting in my lap or being carried around.
Luckily for you, your cries and tears break my heart into pieces.  I scoop you up and you get what you want.  I love you and ask that you please try to sit by yourself without crying for just a bit.  Just so mommy can throw a load of laundry in, cook dinner, or build train tracks with Oliver.  Where did Mr. Laid Back go??

It started out with Joel having a fever last Friday, cold type symptoms.  Then the colds passed around to everyone.  The fever hit Elliot on Monday night.  Then the stomach virus attacked on Tuesday night.  Elliot was the start of it all.  I have never had a puking baby and let me tell you, it was AWFUL!!  It was all over everything.
This is shortly before the stomach stuff began.  I had just fed him sweet potatoes and peas (lovely) and he fell sound asleep in his chair.  So sad!!
The next day, it hit Oliver and today it hit Clayton at school.  So who's next? me or Joel??
This is no fun!!

We met the other Halpins for a morning of sledding.  Even Elliot got to experience some of the snow.  He only had to wait 8 months of his life to see such a sight.  I had to wait 33 years!!

We had a blast!

Snow Scenery

The snow was so beautiful and I may never experience this again, so I couldn't resist.
