Abbie Girl

Abbie Girl,  you will be missed so much.  You have been a huge part of our family for 13 years.  How do we say goodbye to such a loyal and loving companion?  Mom and Dad gave you to me for my 20th birthday.  You were so tiny with the BIGGEST ears.  I was in love from the moment I saw you.
You were with me when I moved into my first apartment, you helped me get through nursing school, you were there when I went on my first date with Joel, you were there the day I headed off to my wedding,  you welcomed three beautiful brothers into our home.  So much has happened in our thirteen years together.
You have always been a daddy's girl.
This is what we call an "Abbie Hat".
You had no problem claiming your space in our bed.
You have been the best dog.  So obedient, loving, gentle, and never short on kisses.
(Abbie and Clayton)
We are so sad to see you go, but we know it is time.  We love you too much to let you go on like this.  You will be able to see again, hear again, run again and do all the great things that dogs love to do.  You were the BEST dog!!!!!  WE LOVE YOU, ABBIE!!!  You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Bye-bye Bottle

No more bottles for this baby.  It wasn't planned.  I ran out of bottle liners and well, all we had was a sippy cup.  What do you think about your cup, Elliot??
He took it like a champ.
Silly baby!!

This cup is so much fun to bang around.

Just had to have a picture of those crazy, fly-away curls.  Love 'em.

Now don't get me wrong...he's still a baby, he's still my baby.  Just because he is not taking a bottle anymore does not mean he's a big boy.  He's still little.

Arbo Fun!

We love the arboretum!!  LOVE it!!  The boys can run until the hear is content....and I can just sit and watch them run.  The weather was GORGEOUS today!!  The perfect temperature, not a cloud in the sky, a nice breeze.  We met my mom, Erin (sis) and my neices Olivia, Emily and Macey.  They ran and ran and ran, rolled down hills and ran some more.  I have no idea how they have so much energy.  I took over a hundred pics.

Taking pictures of my boys together has proven to be quite a difficult task.  One is smiling, the other is making a goofy face.  I can't win in this department.  We need to stick to candid shots.

After we got home, I gave E a bottle and we headed back out to the park for a playdate with friends.  We had such a fun day!!

Application Sent

It's official.  Our pre-application was approved and our application is in the mail headed to Portland, OR.  Several people helped us out by donating to our garage sale that we made enough money to cover the application fee.  One step at a time...I have to keep reminding myself of this.  This will be a long journey, but we are so excited that it has officially begun.

I Heart the Warm Weather

I used to be a cold weather girl.  Loved EVERYTHING about it.  That was before I had three boys.  Two who already can tear up a house in 3 seconds.  Boys are high energy.  Now, I DESPISE the cold weather.  Just thinking about makes me sad and makes me want to go eat chocolate (another reason I hate the cold...I get fatter).  Warm weather has now arrived and I am thrilled.  We have spent every day outside.  We have had so many picnics and gone to so many new parks.  I LOVE it!!  This week we had Owen and Noah over for some bike riding fun.

We have enough ride on equipment for a small army, so there was much entertainment to be had.  The boys stayed busy riding, I got to have some much needed adult conversation with Rachel and then we had a fun picnic lunch in the front yard.  I even got sunburned.  I love these boys and I am so excited that they get to be where they were meant to be...outdoors.
