I am at a good place right now with our adoption. There are so many things going on in Ethiopia that are completely out of my control. It is looking like things are going to take longer than we expected, but right now, I am okay with that. My friend Laura is leaving tomorrow to go meet and bring home her little baby boy from Rwanda. She has waited soooo long for this day! Their dossier had been in Rwanda for 17 months until they finally got their refferal. When she started, the wait was nowhere near that long. Her faith and strength has been such a testimony to me. She wrote the most amazing post a couple of weeks ago.
His way is BEST!!!! AMEN!!!!!!!! God has a plan for our daughter. He is writing the story, NOT ME!! His story is more beautiful than I could EVER imagine. He called me to adopt from Ethiopia. I am confident of this and I will continue on this path no matter how difficult it may be at times. No matter how long it may take. She is already a part of this family. We already LOVE her and pray for her. He did not promise us it would be easy, but the blessings in the end....when Annie is in our arms....will far outweigh the discomfort we may have felt along the way. It excites me that he has chosen me to adopt one of his children!!
I know a day will come that I will have a post entitled "Discouraged" or "Weary". But, I am thankful that right now, I am at peace. I feel blessed. I do not look at the "list" to see what number I am (MOM AND DAD :) :) ***I know you just LOVE her as much as I do***** :) :)). I just can't right now. That would only lead me down a path of discouragement at this point in time. I don't even try to calculate when I think she will be home. I have NO IDEA! We still have a LONG road ahead!! What I do know is that she will be in our arms one day.
Right now, I am just enjoying my three boys I have been blessed with. They are growing up so fast and I don't want to miss something because I am spending all my time worrying about the next step.
Isaiah 7:9 "If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all."
***I have completely fallen in love with the book of Isaiah.***

boy baby is growing such a personality. I am loving it!! Today I went outside to see what he was doing at the water table (we leave our backdoor open in the spring and the kids just run in and out) and he had this hat on. He put it on himself and was just playing away at the water table. It was so cute.
We love you, funny baby!

I have been friends with some wonderful woman for the past thirteen years. We all work together. We all started out as young single girls right out of college. We have seen each other get married and now all have babies. Each of these girls will always be so special to me. We had a fun playdate at the zoo today with all of our littles.
Elliot and Jake are only 4 months apart.

Oliver loves climbing on the elephants

We LOVE going to the zoo. We have a membership and we go all the time. There is another zoo post coming up in the near future. We spent most of our time at the children's zoo today and rode the monorail.
We Love the bird area. You get to feed them and they land on your hands and shoulders.
I actually do not want any birds sitting on me, but I love to watch the boys.

Well, our little baby Oliver is all signed up for kindergarten. Time has flown by way to quickly. It seems like just yesterday when I took Clayton to Kindergarten Round-up and Oliver wanted his picture in front of this sign. (Looks like Elliot, don't you think??)
Here he is now. April 2011
(not sure why the G is upside down)
I decided to go ahead and take Elliot's picture to compare when he starts kindergarten.
(not sure why kindergarten is spelled different on this side of the sign...hmmmm)
It was a lot different this time because I know all of the teachers and they all know Oliver. That will be so comforting when I send him in the fall. The next Kinder round-up we will have Big Elliot and tiny Annie next to the sign.

I made these and they were YUMMY!!
Half were made with salt...
and half were dipped in cinnamon and sugar.
Soft Pretzel Recipe
It was a miracle with the yeast this time. I have NEVER been successful at getting yeast to foam up or activate in the beginning stages. I usually make very flat, or unleavened homemade bread products and it just never works out. This time, the yeast was foaming like CRAZY and the dough doubled in size like it said it would. Yeah for me!!

We have a pair of ducks that live on our street. Not sure why because all of their other friends live at the super fun pond that is just a street away. Every year these two come back and live on our street. So funny.
Elliot was so funny. He went inside the garage and put his helmet on himself (just like his big brothers) and then followed their bike path on his little bike.

We are DTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4/1/11. A date I will always remember. We have a tracking number so we can track our dossier traveling across the world. How cool is that? I can't wait to see where it goes. I thought we were going to be #50 on the waiting list, but last night I checked and we had already moved up to #45 for our baby girl. There were lots of referrals this week. :) Now, we wait......it's all in God's hands now.
