Next stop, Mimi and Gongi's house and then Gigi and Grandpa's house. Sadly, I am horrible at taking pictures on Christmas Day. We had a wonderful brunch at Mimi and Gongi's and a great time catching up with all the family.
Grandpa read this Christmas story before gifts.
The boys have so much fun being around their cousins. Shortly after gifts, we had to pack it up and head out for Christmas round 3 or actually round 4!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! The boys slept until almost 7! A Christmas Miracle! I have never felt so rested on a Christmas day.
Clayton and Oliver's first gift was together, so they had a fun scavenger hunt to find their gift. They got Disney Infinity. We always have at least one shirtless child!
And Elliot got the hot wheels track that he has been asking for since August!
My FAVORITE part of Christmas day was when Elliot stood up before we had opened gifts and said, "Can we pray before we open our gifts?" and he said the sweetest little prayer over our gifts. This moment tops all the gifts and food and well, everything.
My favorite thing is our house over the Christmas season is our advent calendar. The boys put an ornament on the tree everyday until Christmas day and then Jesus goes at the top of the tree. My grandmother "Momma Pat" made this for us and it will always be a special part of this season.
Joel testing out his new lenses for his phone. Kind of wish I had them for myself!! Ha!
Is Clayton following in my footsteps? Joel was not really excited about Clayton opening up this gift!!! Next year maybe he will want to participate in the gift buying!
Christmas Eve got changed up a bit this year. We usually spend it with my family, but my sisters had to work, so we ended up spending the day with the boys' Godparents. It was so nice to not feel rushed. We feasted on some fried chicken and yummy sides (I LOVE this kind of Christmas dinner!!) The boys were dying to open their gifts. They got some really cool stuff!
Michea and Joel had some fun with Joel's new gift of nerf guns!
We got home at a decent hour and the boys were fast asleep by 9 pm. Craziness! I was in bed by 11. The earliest I have EVER been in bed on Christmas Eve!
We have the cutest, sweetest dog. She LOVES to go on walks, she loves running laps as fast as she can in the back yard, she loves going for rides in the car and she loves playing fetch. As soon as Oliver gets home from school, she stays right by my side so she doesn't miss it when I leave to get Clayton. As soon as I open the backdoor, she darts out and is in the car before we are. So funny! She has just found her love for the tennis ball.
