First Day of School

First Day of 2nd Grade.  He hopped out of bed at 6:15, ate a bowl of cheerios, tied his own shoes and was ready to go.  He is going to have so much fun this year in Miss Baker's class.  She is AMAZING!!

And Clayton, first day of 5th grade.  New school, a big school, with lockers and a schedule and changing classes and new friends.  Yikes!  We were both pretty nervous this morning.  He looks so grown up all of a sudden.

We dropped Oliver off at school and he ran straight into his class.  He knows the ropes!

It is tradition for Gigi and Marlene to go to school with us on our first day. Elliot wanted to go to school too.  Not so soon, buddy.  Mommy needs a little more time!!!
Then we rushed home to make sure we saw Clayton off to school.  This is Clayton and his best bud before heading off to the new BIG school.  They were both pretty nervous. I cannot wait to pick them up and hear about their day!

Meet the Teacher

Time to go back to school.  Oliver will be in the 2nd Grade.  His teacher will be Miss Baker.  Clayton had her and we LOVE her.  I missed his meet the teacher because I was at work.

Clayton is off to a new school.  Crazy!  It feels like sending him to kindergarten all over again.  Ugh!  The school is huge.  950 kids in just two grades.  I know he will be fine, it is just a new experience for us!

I took these pictures to try and capture the tiny little freckles that spread across his tiny little nose and cheeks, but they don't really show up well.  It is one of the things that I want to remember about him being little.

Summer Getaway-Fossil Rim

We started our day with a yummy hotel breakfast and then off to Fossil Rim.  We were pleasantly surprised at how fun it was.  The boys LOVED it!

After Fossil Rim, we tried to find a place to eat.  For some reason, Glenrose shuts down on Mondays.  Every place we drove to was closed.  We were trying to avoid the Green Pickle because we ate here the last time we came and the service was horrible.  Well, we ended up at the Green Pickle and it was actually GREAT!  Service was great and food was delicious.  We also stopped by Big Rocks Park.  It was getting kind of muggy and hot out, so we didn't stay long.  Plus, the river that is usually there was all dried up.

The next two pics are of Els at the same rocks 2.5 years later.
Awww. Sweet, tiny boy.  Time flies.

Then, back on the road home!!!  It was so fun to just getaway and be together as a family!  We made lots of fun memories!
